Education Week 2020 - Hebersham Public School Video Presentations
EDUCATION WEEK 2020 - LEARNING TOGETHER Each year we celebrate Public Education in NSW during Week 3 Term 3. This year, Hebersham have really embraced the theme as a community. Learning has been achieved in vastly different ways throughout 2020. For a period of time our families assisted children through the Home Learning Packs. Siblings helped each other to complete tasks. Staff adapted to a very different type of teaching for our students. Everyone, learning together. Education Week 2020 will be launched by the Department of Education with a special live streamed video event from 10:00 am on Monday 3 August 2020. The event will be available on Brightcove and Facebook. Our school Education Week celebrations will be quite different this year. Via the School Website and Facebook, staff have prepared three videos of ways we ‘Learn Together’. We will showcase the learning achieved at home, the wonderful community groups that support our school and students celebrating the teachers. We would love you to support our school and contribute to the comments about the positive learning experiences your children have had during 2020. At school, we will be reflecting on the wonderful learning that has been happening in class. Students are unable to take their books home so they will be writing about a task or activity that they have really enjoyed. Look out for that during Week 3 and talk to your children about it. What have they enjoyed? What did they learn from it? Can we continue to learn about the topic together at home? The Department of Education has several “virtual” celebrations. All are accessible through the Department of Education website. https://education.nsw.gov.au/public-schools/education-week/an-introduction-to-aboriginal-languages (Aboriginal Languages) https://education.nsw.gov.au/public-schools/education-week/film-by-invitation (Student Films) https://artexpress.vr.artsunit.nsw.edu.au/ (Art Express) https://sites.google.com/education.nsw.gov.au/endeavour-eight-days-in-kamay (Explore Aboriginal knowledge and histories highlighted alongside European perspectives) At Hebersham Public School we value each and every student in our care. Thank you for partnering with us in your child’s education. Especially during 2020 let’s all continue to “Learn Together.” Betty Papandreou Staff Principal Hebersham Public School
