S2E - Science Week

20 Aug 2019

creating a model rover

Monday morning saw the students rotate through 4 activities with the clear favourites being the bottle rocket launcher and the Moon rovers.

“My favourite activity was the bottle launch because when Mr Harply launched one, I wanted to try it myself. Miss Elder chose me to launch the next one and it frightened me a little.” – McClaud

“My favourite activity was the bottle rocket because it was cool to see it blast into the trees.” – Ashreen

“My favourite activity was watching the Apollo 11 launching. I got to learn about the lift-off and what pushes it into space.” - Zara

The making of the moon rovers required a lot of patience and perseverance from the students. We constructed it out of cardboard, pencils, straws and A LOT of sticky tape. Students put their rovers to the test and watched them make their way across the netball court.

Overall, it has been a fantastic Science Week!
