This term, Kindergarten EAL/D students have been learning to write short texts. In their written texts, they use the following criteria:

 Have you used capital letters at the beginning of your sentence?

full stop

 Have you used full stops correctly? 

finger spaces

 Does your sentence have finger spaces between each word?

make sense

 Does the sentence make sense?

right way

 Are all your letters the right way round?

describing words

 Have you used interesting words?

connectives

 Have you used connectives?

The Newly arrived English as an additional language learners are inducted into the New Arrivals Program. The New Arrivals Program is aimed to develop the oral, reading and writing skills. This program also enhances vocabulary and sentence structure development. The newly arrived EAL/D students have been working diligently to enhance their English skills. Parents and carers are warmly invited to attend our EALD Afternoon Tea.

Cultural Diversity Day: 23/11/2017.

Hebersham Public School will be celebrating Cultural Diversity Day with a variety of activities. The day provides the chance to promote and celebrate cultural acceptance in our community.   It will be a mufti-day where all children are encouraged to wear traditional/cultural dress. There will be a special assembly at 9:30am with cultural performances by students. Parents are welcome to attend the assembly as well as the combined picnic recess from 10:30am.Students will also be sharing foods from their own culture during rotational activities. Please send a plate of food from your culture to the kitchen (outside Yalingen Allawah).
