SCM exploring Antarctica

SCM incursion

SCM really enjoyed our incursion on a journey to Antarctica at the end of term 3. It was a great way to consolidate everything we had learnt throughout the term on Antarctica.

Did you know Antarctica is actually the largest desert on Earth? During our incursion we got to explore different tools you would need whilst on an expedition to Antarctica. We really enjoyed trying on the clothing and touching timber from Mawson’s Station. The highlight of the incursion was touching ice from a glacier from Antarctica that our presenter Chris Olsen had brought back to Australia from one of his expeditions. It was a fantastic learning experience that we won’t forget. SCM are looking forward to Term 4 and continuing learning interesting things.
